Money vineyard is a site dedicated to value investing. My name is Chris Murphy. I’m 23 years old and have passed the CPA exam and will soon be a registered CPA, I also have an MBA.

The point of this blog is to give you simple and easy to use ideas for managing and investing your money even if you are not interested in money, because ultimately being financially secure gives you more time (and money…obviously) to focus your efforts on your own personal passions. I want you to be debt free and have your money working for you, not the other way around.

I want you to enjoy the fruits of your labor.

Personally, I starting investing my own money in October of 2007, when I transferred all of savings and inheritance from a managed mutual fund to an online discount broker. My timing couldn’t have been worse, because October of 2007 was (and still is) the stock market’s all time high point.  However, I have actually been able to grow my portfolio over 25% despite the overall market falling approximately 25% since I started investing. I did this by reading and study and applying what I learned. I intend to share this information with you on this blog. On this blog, I’m going to let be letting you know what I’m investing in and why.

I hope that I am able to help you in your financial journey, and I hope that I will be be able to learn from you as well. I also hope that you find this site both useful and entertaining. If you have any questions for me feel free to ask and I will be more than happy to answer them. I will also be happy to hear your suggestions or other feedback on the site!
